About Me
I am a practising psychotherapist from India with a Master's degree in Clinical Psychology and specialised training in Movement-Based Expressive Arts Therapy from the Tamalpa Institute in California, USA. I am India's first Tamalpa Practitioner and hold registrations as a Registered Somatic Movement Therapist (RSMT) and Registered Somatic Movement Educator (RSME) from the International Somatic Movement Education & Therapy Association (ISMETA).
Short Term Advance courses completed till now:
1. Certificate of continuing education and professional development - Resilience, Post-Traumatic Growth and Trauma Informed Expressive Arts Therapy (PART 2), 2022
2. An expressive approach to grief and loss, online master class with Adriana Marchione, 2020
3. Art cures Incubation course, 2021
My approach to therapy involves using the embodied approach with mindfulness, which embraces the creativity inherent in every individual. My intention is to guide individuals of all ages towards self-healing and awareness, enabling them to connect with their physical, emotional, and mental bodies to embrace life and breathe out challenges. By using creative mediums like writing, dialogue, art and focused guided movement, depending on the needs of the clients, clients go deeper into their own personal life story.
I am using the work for myself and my clients, I acknowledge the clarity and perspective I gather through tamalpa tools and techniques. The awareness of the physical, emotional, and mental body grounds day to day experiences in my life. I have learned to embrace my life, breathing in the awareness to breathe out challenges willingly. The work believes that physical, emotional, and mental attunement and alignment let the individual grow closer to fulfilling their potential as human beings.
