About Me
Omar Hajaj is originally from Yaffa (Jaffa) and was born and raised in the UK. Omar studied Anthropology at university, followed by earning a BA degree from the Faculty of Shariah at the Islamic University of Madinah.
During his time in Madinah, he studied Tafsir closely with Sheikh Abdullah Ibn Muhammed Al-Ameen Asshinqitee and studied Fiqh and Aqeedah privately with Sheikh Khaled Afifi.
He has been involved with a number of Islamic organizations for over a decade. He previously served as the General Manager of the popular Islamic magazine Al Jumuah, Youth Director of Al Muntada Al Islami, Executive Committee Member of FOSIS, and PR Manager at MRDF. Omar also led several national pro-justice campaigns in the UK.
He is currently the Founder and Director of Yaseen Youth Development, a non-profit organization that aims to inspire young people through life-changing programs. Omar also serves as one of the Imams, teachers, and Khateebs at the West London Islamic Cultural Centre in Parsons Green, London.
Omar has been actively involved in Dawah across the UK and internationally, delivering lectures with a particular focus on youth. Since 2018, he has been conducting weekly Fiqh classes and offering private counselling sessions. He has also received professional training in counselling and leadership through Oxford University.
He has experience visiting and working with people in prison, particularly young people.
Omar has also completed leadership training with Sinan Wren Leadership and Common Purpose.
In addition, Omar studied Islamic Economics privately with Sheikh Faizal Manjoo.
