About Me
Hi, my name is Anika Munshi. I firmly believe that Allah SWT is at the center of our existence, and healing requires aligning our hearts and minds toward God. Putting anything else at the center, whether that is ourselves or others can distort our perception of reality and inadvertently distort our relationship with ourselves, with others, and most importantly with Allah SWT. As a faith-based and culturally sensitive Licensed Professional Counselor, I specialize in working with the Muslim community and the unique challenges we face living in the West.
Many of my clients have experienced complex trauma as a result of living or working with distorted individuals in a distorted environment. Complex problems, therefore, require complex and nuanced solutions and a professional who understands the interconnectedness of a person and their environment.
In today's generation, it can be challenging to find a balance between traditional and modern cultural values, especially within the current sociopolitical climate. Oftentimes we are searching to feel understood, be emotionally supported, and feel seen and heard without having to worry about explaining everything. So, bismillah! Let's begin!
