Naureen Kamdar Mohammed

My name is Naureen, and I'm an educator and a certified Life Coach with 5+ years of experience, who hopes to empower parents, young adults, and leaders of the Muslim community to find clarity and confidence in challenging times. Growing up in the U.S. and with my background in Education, I'm able to understand the challenges teens and young adults face in their developmental years and can actively apply both effective teaching skills and coaching strategies to help families who feel a disconnect over issues regarding family relationships, friendships, school & career performance, self-confidence, lack of appreciation and belonging.

I started off my career with a bachelor's in journalism and a few years at The Washington Post. I then pursued a Masters of Education to take my love of writing/communication and invest it in growing and developing our youth. From there I began a special journey of working as an educator, leadership advisor, and coach at a local Islamic school in Houston, Texas which eventually lead to me serving as their Middle and High School Vice Principal. As we encountered issues with our students, I further expanded my portfolio by adding a Muslim Life Coaching Certification from the Adwam Institute, the legacy of Shaykh Muhammad Al-Shareef, so that I could further support parents and young adults in our community from the various challenges they face today using Islamic principles as the foundation of healing.

Muslim families and nonprofits are in crisis today as we live in a society that is far from our value-system and we face unprecedented messages of being "different" or "not good enough". In a time like this, many people can benefit from a Muslim life coach who will use the Islamic framework and well-researched strategies for well-being and success. I’ve worked with numerous leaders, educators, parents and teens of all backgrounds from the Greater Houston area and am looking forward to supporting our Muslim community locally and internationally.

Life often hits us hard – and the effects of it can linger for long periods of time. But not every situation is a major trauma or a mental health disorder that requires professional therapy. Sometimes things are just off. We aren’t ourselves, and it affects our imaan, our well-being, our health, our work, and all the relationships around us.
