Maliha Somji

In university I completed a BSc Health and Social Care degree and specialised as a support worker for Victims of Domestic Violence. After working in this sector for a few years, I further studied, and am now a Senior registered and accredited CBT counsellor. Overall I have been working with vulnerable individuals for the last 12 years and feel this is exactly where my true calling lies.
My favourite part about my job is being able to witness how I can work with someone and empower them on a journey towards healing, growth and reclaiming their lives. Alongside counselling, in my local community (KSIMC Birmingham), I work as a marriage mediator, assisting couples and individuals through counselling and mediation, to better understand their lives, and work towards bettering their Mental Health. I have vast experience and passion for seeing the changes people can make to enhance their lives. I have experience in dealing with Gender Dysphoria.
