My name is Ebrahim Hassan Alzahrani. I graduated from the College of Sharia and Islamic Studies in Mecca, Umm Al-Qura University, affiliated with Education. I am currently a teacher with a master’s degree in Sharia law. I also work as an imam and preacher in a mosque in Mecca. As per ruling/fatwa Nikah's of Saudi residents, visitors and those on Umrah visa can take place in the KSA. For residents outside of KSA, the couple has to initiate their Nikah registration process through the ministry of Justice website with details of Wali, Wakeel accompanied with other details. The Shariah requirements of Nikah's in the Holy mosques will be taken care of by the Imam but the documentation/registration the couple will have to file and follow up with Govt of Saudi Arabia themselves by contacting the ministry. However, the imam will provide a standard document like a Nikah certificate that entails basic details about the bride, groom, wali, Imam etc. and any conditions to the contract of marriage being set at the time of Nikah.
