About Us
Nisa Ismail The world continues to uncover the challenges of what it means to be Black in America, the racism, and the oppression we face every day. What does it mean to be Black in any of the many masjids around the world? The answers may surprise you. What does it mean to be Black in the Muslim Students Association on campuses across the country? The answers may surprise you. I can help your audience discuss these challenging issues. I can help your group have a better understanding of Prophet Muhammad’s (peace and blessings be upon him) love for diversity and inclusion. I’ve also worked extensively with couples seeking wedded bliss but find themselves just in love and in trouble. I’ve guided people through some of their most challenging experiences from crises in faith, to sexism to death in the family to mental illness. I’ve been engaged in religious service to marginalized populations, social activism, dawah, and educational outreach since 2000. I’ve served college students, faculty, staff, couples, seniors, and sisters. My interests include Islam in the United States, with a special interest in Islam and Black America, inter-religious engagement, social justice issues, parenting, Islam and the modest fashion industry (I love producing fashion shows), dawah to women and college students and working with new Muslims. I am the founder of the Haute and Modesty Show during DC Fashion Week. This Muslim Fashion show brought designers for the first time to the DC Fashion Week and allowed Muslim models to showcase modest attire as well as showcase the talents of modest stylists. I am an event planner for Haute and Modesty Show for four seasons, Howard University Hijabfest for two years, the Golden Minaret Awards for three seasons and various other events. I regularly lectures about these topics and others at campuses, Islamic Centers, and in communities across the country. I’m an event planner with a new skill in virtual events. If you want someone who will listen to your needs and give you the appropriate service, book with me now.
